‘Every day you are helping the world’s poorest people.’ This is the message we were asked to communicate through the design of the Irish Aid annual report. Irish Aid is the government’s programme of assistance to developing countries. With its references to editorial design, from the ‘365’ masthead on the cover to the magazine-like internal layout, the report subverts visual genres, providing a strong and fresh degree of differentiation from annual reports of other aid-related organisations.
Our design was recognised by the Institute of Designers in Ireland (IDI), picking up first prize in the Annual Reports Category. This prestigious award testifies to Irish Aid’s belief in the effectiveness of design, which is made manifest in the inspiring, exciting creative briefs they present to Red Dog.
